I have been searching for a Danica or Nordica for several years and finally got one. They are beautiful boats. I find the Danica is not quite as pretty as the Nordica but everything with boats is a compromise. The Danica has a self draining cockpit, very comfortable sitting headroom and useable cruising accommodations. With its deeper keel and forefoot it sails to windward surprisingly well. It has large storage compartment aft leaving nice cockpit area for two. If she shipped a wave over the stern there wouldn’t be too much water in the small cockpit. This opens up the possibility of some ocean cruising. There were about two dozen of these boats built in North Vancouver Canada during the 1980s and the ones that I have seen have held up really well. They are built to the standards of a much bigger heavier boat. Strength was definitely favoured over saving weight. She feels like a much bigger boat under sail.
